ABOUT

In 2027, YOBOS will journey Into the Woods.

This much-loved musical brings together some of the most famous fairy-tale characters of all time, including Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack, Rapunzel, the Witch, and the Baker and his Wife. As their stories collide, each character heads into the woods in search of something they wish for, but soon discovers that wishes come with choices, consequences and unexpected twists.

With brilliant music, unforgettable characters and a story that is funny, magical, moving and thought-provoking, Into the Woods is one of musical theatre’s most iconic shows. YOBOS are thrilled to be taking on this exciting production and cannot wait to bring this extraordinary world to life with our 2027 company.

TASTER DAY

Are you aged between 11 and 19 and interested in being part of YOBOS’ 2027 production of Into the Woods?

Join us for our Into the Woods Taster Day, where you will have the chance to find out more about the show, meet members of the team, take part in a workshop, and get a feel for what being part of YOBOS is all about.

The Taster Day is open to anyone who may be interested in auditioning, whether you have performed with YOBOS before or are brand new to the group. It is a great opportunity to learn more about the production, ask questions, and get excited about the journey ahead.

STORY

Hadestown takes audiences on a journey to the underworld, weaving together two mythic tales: that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone. Guided by Hermes, the storyteller, we see a world where love is tested against fear, hope battles despair, and music has the power to change fate. Full of incredible songs, heart, and energy, Hadestown is a modern musical like no other.

Narrator
An intellectual and pleasant story-teller who helps to orchestrate the show and illustrate lessons to the audience.

A young, earnest maiden who is constantly mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters.

Jack
The feckless Giant killer who is 'almost a man.' He is adventurous, naive, energetic, and bright-eyed.

Jack's Mother
Browbeating and weary, Jack's protective mother who is independent, bold, and strong-willed.

The Baker
A harried and insecure baker who is simple and loving, yet protective of his family. He wants his wife to be happy and is willing to do anything to ensure her happiness but refuses to let others fight his battles.

The Baker's Wife
Determined and bright woman who wishes to be a mother. She leads a simple, yet satisfying life and is very low-maintenance yet proactive in her endeavors.

Cinderella's Stepmother
The mean-spirited, demanding stepmother of Cinderella.

Florinda And Lucinda
Cinderella's stepsisters who are black of heart. They follow in their mother's footsteps of abusing Cinderella.

Little Red Riding Hood
A spoiled young girl who is strong-willed, quick-wited, fearless, yet youthful and naive.

The Witch
Sarcastic, ugly-then-gorgeous, obsessive protector of Rapunzel who is straightforward and aggressive.

Cinderella's Mother
Deceased with her soul guarding and aiding her daughter from a tree.

Mysterious Man
A mischievous vagrant and nosy meddler. He is a good-natured protector and observer.

Wolf
Hungry and insatiable hunter who takes advantage of the weak by misleading and captivating his prey.

Rapunzel
A loopy-but-lovely maiden who is sheltered by the Witch and terribly lonely. She yearns to experience the world.

Cinderella's Prince
Vain and gorgeous, he is a disloyal lover who is currently searching for the next new, exciting thing.

Rapunzel's Prince
Just as vain and gorgeous as his Prince brother, he is always chasing the newest, most exiting endeavor.

Giant
Voiceover. The Giant's wife is an angry and vengeful 'monster.' She is seeking restitution for her loss.

YOBOS WEEK

YOBOS week is what all the workshops have been leading up to! One week to put on a fully staged, fully costumed and fully orchestrated musical. Throughout the week, the cast will learn the direction, choreography and music whilst helping our backstage members with building the set, preparing props and anything else that goes into making a musical!

YOBOS WEEK BREAKDOWN

THE 2027 INTO THE WOODS' YOBOS WEEK RUNS FROM 6TH AUGUST 2027 TO 15TH AUGUST 2027

Friday 6th Aug - 10am till 6.00pm

Saturday 7th Aug - 10am till 6.00pm

Sunday 8th Aug - 10am till 6.00pm

Monday 9th Aug - 10am till 6.00pm (crew day off)

Tuesday 10th Aug - 10am till 6.00pm (cast day off)

Wednesday 11th Aug - 10am till 10.00pm

Thursday 12th Aug - 10am till 10.30pm

At 4.30pm all YOBOS members will receive fish and chips for tea. At 5.30pm, the cast will get into costume and makeup and begin a dress rehearsal at 7.00pm

Friday 13th Aug - 10am till 10.30pm

Throughout the day, we will prepare for the show. At 6pm, the cast will get into costume and makeup and begin the show at 7.30pm

Saturday 14th Aug - 12pm till 10.30pm

YOBOS members will arrive midday and get into costume and makeup. They will then perform their matinee show at 2.30pm. After the show, they will have a break and then prepare for their final show at 7.30pm

Sunday 15th Aug - 12.00pm till 6.00pm

YOBOS members will clear the hall and takedown all set. Once this is done, the production team will thank those who were involved and give out gifts. They will then announce next year's show! After this, we will have a party buffet to celebrate!

YOBOS isn't just for performers! We have a whole host of young talent behind the scenes as well. YOBOS is proud to be a group for young people, by young people.

We have places open for anyone who wishes to be involved in our shows, but not necessarily on the stage. These roles include:
